About Prairie Management

Prairie Management Corporation (“Prairie”) was founded in 1990, as the property management affiliate of Carroll Properties Incorporated (“Carroll”). Currently, Prairies principal business is the daily management of the real estate portfolio of Carroll Properties. Prairie also manages a number of other properties on a fee basis for private investors and institutional clients. Both companies are owned by their founder Robert C. King, who serves as President of both companies.

Robert C. King

As the current President of Carroll Properties, Inc., Chicago native Robert C King has been orchestrating the development and management of residential rental housing since March 1980.  More specifically, Bob’s responsibilities include project selection, project finance, asset and partnership management, zoning and entitlement work and tax planning.  As a testament to his success, Bob has overseen the rehabilitation and condo conversion of the John McGill Mansion—a National Historic Landmark property near the University of Chicago—and the development of several hundred affordable housing units in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood and Carroll Tower midrise, a midrise building in St. Charles, Ill.  Before Carroll Properties, Bob gained invaluable experience working in Corporate Bond Sales and in Institutional Security Sales for Solomon Brothers and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc., respectively.  Bob received his MBA in Corporate Finance and Investments from the Harvard Business School (1972).  Bob enjoys bonsai, gardening and technical stock market analysis.
